Current research indicates that some permitted food additives may be harmful and negatively impact human health. Reitan Convenience applies the precautionary principle and takes a two-step approach: certain E-numbers must be fully removed from the assortment by 2028. For a second group the ambition is to progressively reduce our dependency over time, meaning these should be avoided in new products where possible and their presence should be minimised to ensure that our assortment over time will carry a lower exposure of these e-numbers.
