a nut with a drinking problem
Almonds are highly water-intensive and are often grown in water-stressed regions. It can take around 4 litres of water to grow a single almond, and roughly 80% of the world's supply comes from California, a region that regularly faces severe drought. We have therefore decided to quit sourcing from the most water-stressed regions, if the producer cannot show independent proof of sustainable water use.
